Brendan S. Mascarenhas, Ph.D.

Brendan's expertise is in the field of theoretical and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). He has more than a decade of experience in industrial research and development and teaching, including start-up industry experience of taking a product from concept to prototype testing and optimization stage. Brendan's application interests are in applied aerodynamics and heat transfer for internal and external flows, jet propulsion, fluid-structure interaction, and multiphase flows. Brendan has authored several scientific publications and patents and holds adjunct faculty positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Hartford, CT, and at Fairfield University. Brendan holds a Ph.D in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University, specializing in algorithm development for high-order CFD methods. He also has Bachelors degrees in civil engineering and mechanical engineering and a Masters in mechanical engineering.
